If you’ve recently received a reassessment notice or are waiting for your 2026 property tax bill, you’re probably asking the same question as thousands of other Vermonters:
What does this mean for my taxes?
That’s exactly why we built VT4VT.com.
The new website is designed to bring together public records, research, analysis, and tools that help explain Vermont’s property tax system in a way that’s practical and easy to understand.
Whether you’re trying to estimate your tax bill, compare reassessments, or research your town’s Grand List, you’ll find those resources at VT4VT.com.
New Vermont Property Tax Calculator
One of the first tools now available on VT4VT.com is the Vermont Property Tax Calculator.
Using your town’s published tax rates and your property’s assessed value, the calculator estimates:
Education property tax
Municipal property tax
Other local taxes
Total estimated annual property tax
Effective tax rate
Estimated market value using your town’s Common Level of Appraisal (CLA)
The calculator is designed as an educational tool to help homeowners better understand how Vermont’s property tax system works before official tax bills arrive.
You can try it today at VT4VT.com.
Put It to the Test
If you’ve already received your 2026 property tax bill, we’d like your help.
Visit VT4VT.com, open the Property Tax Calculator, and:
Select your town.
Enter your property’s assessed value.
Verify your town’s published tax rates.
Compare the estimate to your actual tax bill.
If the estimate is close, we’ve accomplished our goal.
If it isn’t, let us know. Every town has unique circumstances, and your feedback will help improve the calculator for everyone.
We’re Building Vermont’s Largest Public Grand List Collection
Another major initiative underway at VT4VT.com is the collection of Vermont Grand Lists and Grand List Abstracts from every municipality.
We’re currently collecting:
2025 Grand Lists
2026 Grand Lists
2025 Grand List Abstracts
2026 Grand List Abstracts
If your town has published these documents, you can help by uploading:
The PDF files, or
A direct link to where they’re published on your town’s website.
Our goal is to collect records from all 247 Vermont municipalities and build one of the most complete public databases for comparing assessments, Grand List growth, and statewide reassessment trends.
Submission information is available at VT4VT.com.
Vermont Reassessment Survey Continues
The Vermont Reassessment Survey also remains open through VT4VT.com.
Homeowners from across Vermont are submitting assessment information to help document how reassessments are affecting communities throughout the state.
The survey does not replace official records—it complements them by providing real-world examples that can be compared against published Grand Lists, tax rates, and assessment data.
If you haven’t participated yet, you can complete the survey at VT4VT.com.
More Research. More Transparency.
Vermonters for Vermont (VT4VT) was created with one goal:
Make Vermont’s public information easier to find, easier to understand, and available to everyone.
The website will continue to grow with:

Every article is built around publicly available information, with an emphasis on linking directly to official state and municipal sources whenever possible.
